What To Expect
I’m passionate about helping dog parents bring more enrichment, ease and freedom into their pup’s life!
During a meet & greet I will determine if your dog is a regular walker (minimal training needed for safe, smooth walks) or a training walker (lots of reactivity and/or pulling; not responsive to corrections, which could jeopardize safety).
I’m not a good fit for dogs who have a bite history with people, but I’m happy to refer you to trainers and walkers who work with these personality types.
I practice LIMA (least intrusive, minimally aversive) principles and use both positive reinforcement and evolved balanced methods, to prioritize safety And freedom in appropriate stages, according to a dog’s responsiveness.
Tools I may use include:
Gentle Leader headcollar
Halti headcollar
Easy Walk harness
Rubber tipped prong collar
E-collar on vibrate setting (Electric ONLY in an emergency to end an attack on a animal or person)
Treats
Clicker
Verbal and gestural cues
Ignoring
Collaborative theories
Positive reinforcement
I do NOT use the following handling methods and philosophies
Pushing, hitting, kicking, or gesturing as though I may do so
E-collar on Electric setting (unless in an emergency to end an attack on an animal or person)
Dominance and submission theories
Each walking service includes:
GPS image showing walk path, mileage and time
Written report of walk + photos
Updates on any behavioral goals we’ve discussed
Feed & water if requested
The option for you to join the walk
